01/ Overview

The route

A short themed trail through Courgenay and across the open countryside near Courtemautruy. Along the way are village inns and two churches, while the highest point is at around 540 m.

The Le Martinet themed trail begins right by the Courgenay, gare stop. From the village, the route soon climbs gently between open meadows and fields. For long stretches, it runs outside the marked hiking trail network. Around halfway, it reaches its highest point near Courtemautruy at approximately 540 m.

In Courtemautruy, the trail passes the Chapelle Saint Eloi, with the Café de la Croix just a few steps away. The circuit, which is just under five kilometres long, then turns back towards Courgenay. Open farmland continues to define the landscape for a while before the first houses draw nearer. The short descent sheds the elevation gained earlier. Only towards the end does the route follow a marked hiking trail. In the village, it passes Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption and the Restaurant du Boeuf. After a little over an hour, the circuit ends back at the Courgenay, gare stop.

03/ Conditions

Current conditions

What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.

  • How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.

  • How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.

  • How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
