01/ Overview
The route
A short sculpture-themed trail in the Jura: from the highest point near Courtemautruy, the route leads through woodland and across open meadows down into the village.
The starting point in Courtemautruy is not served by public transport; it is just over two kilometres from Courgenay railway station. At the finish, too, the nearest stop is still around one and a half kilometres away. The Sentier des sculptures de Courgenay begins near its highest point.
Shortly after the start, the route reaches an elevation of around 680 m. The modest ascent at the beginning is soon completed, after which the long descent sets the direction. The sculpture-themed trail leads through the forest and runs largely outside the marked hiking trail network, making good navigation skills important.
Later, the forest gives way to open meadows and pastures. Over the remainder of the route, it loses around 100 metres in elevation. After just over two kilometres and slightly less than three quarters of an hour, it ends back in Courtemautruy, this time lower down in the village.

Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
