01/ Overview
The route
Information panels, wildflower fallows and standard-tree orchards line the route from Egliswil via Eichberg to Hallwil. This educational trail explores arable crops, livestock farming and biodiversity amid fields and villages.
The educational trail through Aargau’s farmland begins at the Egliswil, Industrie bus stop. Initially, the route crosses open fields before returning to Egliswil. Information panels explain how food is produced, the cultivation of various arable crops, livestock farming and biodiversity. For a short stretch, the trail follows the Mühlebach.
The route then climbs through a mosaic of fields, meadows and settlement fringes to Eichberg. Around halfway, it reaches its highest point at approximately 580 m. Wildflower fallows, natural hedges and standard-tree orchards illustrate how ecological areas are integrated into agriculture. The trail then descends to Seengen and passes the Reformed village church.
The final third continues to Hallwil. Sponsored trees, wild fruit trees and the Hallwil stepping-stone habitat revisit the theme of connecting habitats. After just under five hours, the educational trail ends at the Hallwil stop.

What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
