01/ Overview
The route
From the darkest place in Switzerland slide down on a toboggan through winter woodlands sprinkled with snow to Tschierv in Val Müstair. Especially impressive: the view of the Ortler Massif.
The descent begins at the Lü, cumün bus stop at around 1,920 m, the highest point on the route. The sledging trail leaves the houses of Lü and descends across open meadows near Döss da Val S-chüra. A short distance from the start stands the Reformed church, a place of worship protected at cantonal level. The village is soon left behind, and the route continues downhill across open terrain.
Further down, the forest draws closer. The sledging trail follows its edge and at times leads between the trees before the terrain opens up again towards Tschierv. After a total of four kilometres and around 240 metres of descent, the first houses come into view. The route runs through the village to the lower edge of Tschierv. From there, it is just under 200 metres to the Tschierv, Biosfera bus stop.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
Sledding is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.
How we check: SLF only publishes its snow maps from November 1. Until then we roughly estimate the snow depth at the lowest and the highest point of the route every day from the nearest SLF measuring stations. Check the situation on site.
