01/ Overview
The route
On Sörenberg’s sunny side, this short winter loop climbs to Alpweid, opening up views over the village, the surrounding mountains and the Laui landslide area.
From the Sörenberg, Post bus stop, it is only a few steps to the church in Sörenberg. The winter loop begins here and soon leaves the houses behind. On Sörenberg’s sunny side, the route climbs across open terrain. Benches line the trail; in clear weather, a mountain panorama unfolds above the village and across to the slopes of the ski area. The open terrain allows uninterrupted views, while the church below gradually recedes into the distance.
The Alp kiosk is located at Alpweid. Higher up, the loop reaches its highest point at just under 1,300 m, near Hagleren. It then leads back towards the valley across the broad slopes. Along the way, there are views into the Laui landslide area, where wildlife can sometimes be observed from a distance. The descent brings winter hikers back to the first houses of Sörenberg and, after around one hour and fifteen minutes, to the village centre.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
