01/ Overview
The route
A culinary winter hike through the moorland of Sörenberg: from an aperitif at Rossweid via Rischli to dessert in the village.
The gondola climbs to Rossweid, where the winter hike begins at its highest point, just under 1,500 m. An aperitif, the first course of the culinary three-course menu, awaits at the Rossweidbar. The route then leads through the snow-covered moorland with very little ascent. Open expanses and quiet stretches of forest characterise the trail to the Berggasthaus Salwideli. The focus along the way is on the moorland habitats and the survival strategies of their inhabitants.
From Salwideli, the route continues downhill, partly along the road. After around seven kilometres, it reaches Rischli, the stop for the main course. The route then descends to about 1,100 m before climbing gently again on the final section.
After a little over two hours, the first houses of Sörenberg come into view. The Sörenberg, Post bus stop is just under 200 metres from the destination. Dessert rounds off the experience at Restaurant Bäckerstube, where the roughly nine-kilometre winter hike ends.

Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
