01/ Overview
The route
Snowshoe trail with panoramic views of the Dents du Midi and the Vaud Alps. In the upper Val d'Illiez, the route leads from Champoussin along a mountain ridge, across fields and forest.
From the «Champoussin, téléski Champeys» bus stop, it is only a few steps to the starting point by the chairlift. The snowshoe trail initially descends across open terrain, reaching its lowest point after just over an hour. The route then enters the forest and climbs again. The Point de vue viewpoint lies directly on the route, with views of the surrounding area opening up between the trees.
The longer ascent leads through forest and across open slopes to the highest point of the tour at around 1'680 m. From here, La Croix de l’Aiguille lies off the route. The trail then descends back towards the first houses of Champoussin.
In the village, the route passes the Chapelle de Champoussin. Shortly afterwards, the Amici restaurant stands directly beside the trail. The final stretch leads through the residential area back to the Champoussin chairlift.
