01/ Overview
The route
At the top of the Col du Mollendruz, starting from the Nordic Sport shop, this trail takes you to one of the most beautiful viewpoints of the Vaud Jura: Croix de Châtel at 1,432m.
From the Mollendruz, col bus stop, it is just a few steps to the Col du Mollendruz at 1,180 m. This pass in the Vaud Jura links l’Isle with Le Pont. The eight-kilometre snowshoe tour through the Jura begins here. The route initially descends across open terrain and between sections of woodland before the longest ascent begins.
The climb continues towards Châtel. Near the summit, the circuit reaches its highest point at around 1,430 m. It then descends and continues through the Jura landscape in a succession of ups and downs, alternating between meadows and dense woodland. Towards the end, the route passes Chalet du Mollendruz. After a good three and a half hours and around 380 metres of ascent, the circuit closes at Col du Mollendruz, not far from the bus stop of the same name.
