01/ Overview
The route
This route runs around the enchanting hamlet of Lucelle, which is set in a nature reserve. The remains of a Cistercian monastery will take you back to bygone days and the wild vegetation along the lake shore will make this an unforgettable tour.
The short circular walk begins at the Lucelle bus stop and involves almost no elevation gain. Initially, the route crosses open terrain to the Étang de Lucelle. Along the shore, unobstructed views across the water alternate with wooded sections and wet meadows. As part of the circuit runs outside the marked hiking trail network, careful navigation remains important.
About halfway round, the path returns to the houses of Lucelle and passes close to the Chapelle Notre-Dame. It then climbs only gently, with the highest point at just over 600 m. With around 20 metres of elevation gain in total, the profile remains exceptionally gentle. Alternating between woodland and open areas, the two-kilometre circuit is completed. After around half an hour, it ends back at the Lucelle bus stop.
