01/ Overview
The route
This family walk is suitable for all and takes you to Montsoflo aux Fornis, where you can savour the views over the Lac de la Gruyère, the Gibloux, the Swiss Plateau and the Jura mountain range in the distance.
The snowshoe tour starts at the La Roche FR, Montsoflo bus stop. Over roughly 5 km and with about 190 m of ascent, the circuit first crosses open pastures; the climb reaches its highest point at around 1,040 m, from which unobstructed views across the Mittelland are possible. The circuit takes just over two hours.
Large sections run off marked trails, the open slopes alternating with short stretches of woodland. Later the path returns into the hamlet. The Auberge de Montsoflo lies somewhat set back within the settlement; finally the tour ends again at the starting point at the bus stop.
