01/ Overview
The route
While heavy traffic rolls over the A13, the cross-country skiers enjoy the wintry silence right next to it. Surrounded by the protected pine forest of Bosch de San Remo, the track runs around lake Lago d'Isola and then over the dam.
From the S. Bernardino, Villaggio bus stop, it is only a few steps to the start in San Remo. The trail initially climbs gently between woodland and open terrain. Rising in gentle undulations, it gains around 180 metres in elevation overall and, after just over two kilometres, reaches its highest point at around 1,660 m.
The circuit then descends towards Lago d’Isola. Directly on the shore of this Graubünden reservoir begins the longer stretch along the Moesa, which sets the course until shortly before San Bernardino. Sections of woodland alternate with open terrain as the trail heads towards the circuit’s lowest point before beginning to climb gently again. Near La Terrazza, the first houses of San Bernardino come into view. The trail leads through the village and back to San Remo; after eight kilometres and just over two hours, the finish is once again only a few steps from the S. Bernardino, Villaggio bus stop.

Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
Cross-country skiing is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
