01/ Overview
The route
A circular route for a quiet and peaceful walk through the countryside above the village of Le Crêt, with a magnificent view over the Alps and Pre-Alps.
The start of the eight-kilometre cross-country ski trail is just a few steps from the Crêt-près-Semsales, école bus stop. From Le Crêt-près-Semsales, the loop heads out across open countryside. Meadows and pastures dominate the landscape, and the houses are soon left behind. Over the first few kilometres, the trail descends gradually, reaching its lowest point at around 890 m about halfway through.
The loop then continues gently up and down back towards Le Crêt. The total elevation gain is around 150 metres, spread across several small undulations. The final section features the longest climb, leading to the highest point at around 920 m near Les Alpettes. From there, a short return descent leads back to Le Crêt-près-Semsales. After just over two hours, the trail ends near the bus stop by the school once again.
