01/ Overview
The route
This trail is located on the closest peak to Vevey, Les Pléiades, which although not very high offers stunning views of Lake Geneva and the nearby Alps. Alternating flat sections with moderate descents and climbs through beautiful scenery.
From the Les Motalles stop, it is only a few steps to the start by the Motalles car park. The ten-kilometre trail initially climbs across open terrain, soon reaching its highest point at around 1,240 m below Les Pléiades. It then enters the forest between meadows and pastures.
The route descends in a series of undulations. Around halfway, the circuit reaches its lowest point at just over 1,120 m. Alongside clearings and stretches of woodland, wet meadows characterise the surroundings in places. The subsequent climb brings the trail back to higher, open terrain.
Towards the end, short climbs and descents alternate before the circuit closes at the Motalles car park after around ten kilometres and just over three hours. The Les Motalles stop is around 160 m from the finish.
