01/ Overview
The route
With its snow-covered forests and pastures, the Nordic village of Les Mosses is in a spectacular natural setting. Here cross-country skiing is king, with stunning trails and a wide diversity of scenery for you to enjoy.
From the Les Mosses, Col des Mosses stop, it is just over 200 metres to the Espace Nordique. The seven-kilometre cross-country ski trail begins near the Col des Mosses in Les Mosses and soon reaches its highest point at around 1,440 m, not far from La Rionde. It then leaves the settled area behind and heads out across open terrain.
The circuit sweeps in a long arc across meadows and through wet lowlands. It gradually loses elevation, reaching the houses of La Lécherette in the second half. From there, the trail climbs back towards Les Mosses, with the gentle uphill sections adding up to around 150 metres of ascent. It then crosses the broad plateau back to the starting point. After just under two hours, the circuit ends at the Espace Nordique, only a few minutes’ walk from the stop at the Col des Mosses.

Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
Cross-country skiing is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
