01/ Overview
The route
Cross-country skiers in the valley frequently say that, if there is a stiff breeze, you simply need to open your arms to be propelled along to Ponts-de-Martel. Although this image raises a smile, it’s true; the route is far more enjoyable when crossed from East to West.
The cross-country ski trail starts in La Corbatière, just a few steps from the «La Corbatière, parking» stop. At just under 1,090 m, this is already the highest point, close to Petite Corbatière. From the outset, the route leads across open meadows and pastures. The gradient is barely perceptibly downhill, with no significant counter-climbs. This leaves ample opportunity to take in the views across the broad, sparsely populated plateau.
After the first section, the trail reaches the houses of La Sagne. The terrain then opens up again, and the track continues on a gentle descent towards Les Ponts-de-Martel. In total, the route covers twelve kilometres and takes a good two and a half hours, with only around 20 m of ascent and approximately 100 m of descent. Towards the end, the first houses of the destination come into view. The trail ends in Les Ponts-de-Martel; the «Gde-Rue» stop is around 200 m away.

Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
Cross-country skiing is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.
How we check: SLF only publishes its snow maps from November 1. Until then we roughly estimate the snow depth at the lowest and the highest point of the route every day from the nearest SLF measuring stations. Check the situation on site.
