01/ Overview
The route
Similar to a slalom course through a pine tree labyrinth, the Mille Sapins piste is good fun and very challenging at the same time. A rugged site in an exceptional pastured woodland, it is undoubtedly the most beautiful site in the whole Franches-Montagnes district.
The roughly eight-kilometre trail begins in Les Envers near Les Breuleux. From the nearby Les Breuleux, école stop, it is just under 300 metres to the starting point. The circuit initially crosses open, gently rising terrain, with sections of woodland adding variety across the plateau.
Around halfway, the trail reaches its highest point near Petit Crêt at approximately 1'080 m. A little later, it passes the Buvette du Téléski. The route then gradually descends, winding through meadows and woodland on the way back. After just over two hours and around 170 metres of ascent in total, the circuit ends back in Les Envers.
