01/ Overview
The route
A perfect excursion with friends or family: starting on the Vounetz, the medium-difficulty sled run winds through snow forests and over Alpine routes. On the way, the run offers a superb panoramic view of the summits of the Moléson, the Dents Vertes and the Jauntal.
The sledging descent begins at the Télécabine Charmey mountain station in Vounetse, at around 1'610 m, the highest point on the route. The Vounetse stop is just a few steps from the actual start of the sledging run. From here, the three-kilometre route descends through open terrain, losing around 440 metres in elevation overall. Broad, open slopes characterise the beginning of the run.
In the lower section, the forest closes in on the route, and the open terrain gradually gives way to trees. The descent continues to La Scie and ends after around 40 minutes at approximately 1'180 m. The Charmey La Scie bus stop is located right by the finish, leaving only a few steps between the end of the sledging run and the public transport connection.
