01/ Overview
The route
The toboggan run from Sparenmoos to Heimchueweid takes you across meadows and then through forests, starting off level and then becoming an bit steeper and winding. On the first part of the toboggan run you have continual views of the Simmental valley.
The four-kilometre descent begins at the Zweisimmen, Sparenmoos bus stop. Just a few steps from the public transport stop, the route sets off amid open meadows and pastures. Shortly after the start, the highest point is reached near Schiltenegg at around 1,660 m. From there, the sledging trail leads almost continuously downhill.
The descent soon follows the Beretgrabe for just over two kilometres. The stream thus accompanies much of the route, while the open terrain affords views in the direction of travel. Overall, the route descends around 340 metres. After the middle section shaped by the gully, the run continues across open ground. Towards the end, the sledging trail reaches Heimchueweid above Zweisimmen. The Zweisimmen, Heimchueweid bus stop is located directly at the finish.

Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
Sledding is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
