01/ Overview
The route
A very varied route that starts and ends at the Col du Mollendruz, along forest roads, through mountain pastures and offering fantastic views of Lake Geneva and Lake Neuchâtel at certain points.
From the Mollendruz, col bus stop, it is only a few steps to the start at Col du Mollendruz. The pass, at around 1,180 m, links l’Isle with Le Pont and provides access to the broad Jura heights. The trail initially crosses open terrain, climbing steadily. As it gains altitude, stretches of forest draw closer, while open areas preserve views across the gentle ridges.
After just under six kilometres, the route reaches its highest point at around 1,290 m, near the Dent de Vaulion. The trail then continues over alternating rises and descents through a mosaic of woodland and open Jura pastures. Over the 14 kilometres, the total ascent amounts to around 300 metres. Towards the end, the trail descends back to the pass, reaching Col du Mollendruz after just under four hours.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
Cross-country skiing is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
