01/ Overview
The route
A short, easy sunny loop at the foot of the Chasseron, one of the best-known peaks in the Jura, offering skiers a unique view of the Alps, from Säntis to Mont-Blanc.
From the Bullet, Les Cluds bus stop, it is only a few steps to the start at Les Rasses. The four-kilometre trail initially passes the Café-Restaurant des Cluds before climbing gently across open terrain. After just under a kilometre, it reaches its highest point near Crêt des Gouilles at around 1,220 m.
The trail then continues across broad meadows with only minor changes in elevation. Houses provide the main landmarks in the open landscape. Around halfway, the route returns to the Les Rasses area; the Restaurant Les Planets lies a little off the trail. From here, it briefly descends to its lowest point at just under 1,200 m, then continues back over gently undulating terrain. After just over an hour, the circuit ends back at Les Rasses, right by the Bullet, Les Cluds bus stop.
