01/ Overview
The route
This trail takes you through the Parc Jura Vaudois, past dry-stone walls and Jura chalets, across marshes and mystical forests to the Ferme des Pralets where spectacular views of Lake Geneva await you, with La Dôle behind you. The route continues up to the Col du Marchairuz.
The 37-kilometre cross-country ski trail starts directly at the La Givrine public transport stop. It soon climbs across the open Jura heights and, after around two and a half kilometres, reaches its highest point at just over 1,350 m, near Le Noirmont. From there, expansive pastures and a long succession of ascents and descents define the route, which involves around 600 metres of elevation gain in total. Sections of woodland occasionally interrupt the open terrain.
In its middle section, the trail passes a picnic area and runs through the surroundings of the Col du Marchairuz. The pass itself lies just over half a kilometre off the route. Grande Enne, La Vy des Gros and Crêt de Grison also remain to the side as the trail loops broadly back. Towards the end, gentle climbs and longer descents alternate once more. After just under ten hours, the cross-country skiing loop ends back at the La Givrine public transport stop.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
Cross-country skiing is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
