01/ Overview
The route
The Planet Trail follows the Wigger on an almost level route from Willisau to Schötz. Running between fields and woodland, it leads from planet to planet, with an opportunity to stop for refreshments at Burgrain.
The Planet Trail begins by the Willisau swimming pool, at its highest point of around 550 m. From the Sun station, the route leads from planet to planet while following the Wigger downstream. Meadows and fields initially dominate the scenery; the hiking trail descends gently and, after Wydenmühle, reaches the surroundings of Burgrain.
At the Agrovision Burgrain experience farm, the Burgrain-Stube provides an opportunity to stop for refreshments. The trail then continues along the river to Alberswil. The solar system remains the common thread as open countryside alternates with short stretches of woodland. Unpaved tracks and asphalt sections alternate, while good signposting keeps the direction clear.
For the final few kilometres, the Wigger accompanies the almost level route as far as Schötz. After just under six kilometres and a little over an hour, the Planet Trail ends near the Moosbrücke PostBus stop.

Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
