01/ Overview
The route
A short themed trail near Bure leads through extensive woodland and across open meadows. In the Mont Renaud area, the circuit reaches its highest point at around 530 m.
The short circuit begins in Le Mairâ near Bure. The nearest bus stop, Bure, Casernes, is around 600 m from the starting point. This themed trail in the canton of Jura initially follows a waymarked hiking trail into the forest. It soon leaves the waymarked network and continues through continuous stretches of woodland with only minor changes in elevation.
Around halfway along, the highest point is reached in the Mont Renaud area at approximately 530 m. Meadows then repeatedly open up between the trees before the route turns back towards Le Mairâ at La Duchesse. The final section once again runs outside the waymarked hiking trail network and remains almost level. After just over two kilometres and around 40 minutes, the circuit ends back in Le Mairâ; from the finish, it is still approximately 400 m to the Bure, Casernes bus stop.
