01/ Overview
The route
An almost level, pushchair-friendly circuit from Lake Brienz to the Lütschine, crossing the covered wooden bridge and passing through the open farmland around Bönigen.
From the Bönigen, See bus stop, it is only a few steps to the tourist office and the lakeside promenade. This family-friendly circular walk begins beside Lake Brienz, whose steep shores continue below the waterline. After passing the Strämi Beizli, the route leaves the lakeshore and leads through Bönigen to the Lütschine.
The path follows the river to the historic covered Aenderbergbrügg. Beyond the bridge, the surroundings alternate between open farmland and houses on the edge of the village. At Acherhubel, a farm and farm shop stand beside the path, while the restored Chrottengräbli provides a habitat for wildlife. The route remains almost level and runs mostly along broad hiking trails, with one short section outside the marked trail network.
Towards the end, the circuit passes Bönigen church and leads through the village back to the lake. After just over an hour, the tourist office is reached once again; the Bönigen, See bus stop is right beside it.
