01/ Overview
The route
First follow the route taken by the famous GoldenPass line and then you go along the stream: This route between Saanenmöser and the sunny mountain terrace of Schönried is picture-postcard beautiful in a typically Swiss way. It crosses the Moos plateau and winds its way through delightful wooded areas.
From Saanenmöser railway station, it is around 200 metres to the start of the four-kilometre trail. Around the top of the pass, the terrain opens out across meadows and pastures. Saanenmöser lies on the pass between Zweisimmen and Saanen, which is also crossed by the Montreux–Lenk railway line. The loop leaves the houses behind and heads into open countryside.
Initially, the trail descends gently to the lowest point of the loop. There are a few scattered houses around Rellerli, while Bärgsunne remains slightly off the route. This is followed by the longer climb. In its final third, the route reaches its highest point at around 1,280 m, not far from Saanerslochflue. From there, it undulates gently back towards the top of the pass. After a little over an hour, the loop closes back at its starting point in Saanenmöser.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
Cross-country skiing is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.
How we check: SLF only publishes its snow maps from November 1. Until then we roughly estimate the snow depth at the lowest and the highest point of the route every day from the nearest SLF measuring stations. Check the situation on site.
