01/ Overview
The route
Fast and furious sledge run in the wild and romantic Saxettal valley, surrounded by the Schwalmere, Bällenhöchst and Morgenberghorn peaks. Family-friendly by day and romantic by night, this route promises exhilarating sledging fun.
The sledging descent begins at Alp Nessleren, close to the highest point of the route at around 1,460 m. The start is some distance from public transport; the nearest stop, Saxeten, Skipintli, is just under 2 km away. From the open slopes above the valley, the three-kilometre descent leads downhill, losing around 340 metres in elevation overall.
At first, the terrain remains open. The forest soon draws closer, and the route continues downhill between the trees. Towards the end, the first houses of Saxeten come into view. Shortly before the finish, the sledging run passes close to the Skipintli before ending in the lower part of the village at around 1,130 m. Around 40 minutes should be allowed to reach this point. The finish in Saxeten is around 150 m from the Saxeten, Schulhaus bus stop.
