01/ Overview
The route
A winter highlight of the Kandertal. Great fun and the very best views on Kiental, Blüemlisalp and Lake Thun are guaranteed along the toboggan track from Ramslouene. After some gentle turns the track guides you into a forest with open spots.
The descent begins at the Ramslauenen mountain station, the highest point on the route at around 1,400 m. Near the Hore am Rüederigs, the sledging run sets off downhill. Berghaus Ramslauenen stands right by the start, and the few houses of Ramslauenen accompany the first few metres. The terrain then opens out, and the route steadily loses elevation.
Further down, the route enters the forest. Between the trees, the descent continues towards the valley floor for some distance. Over four kilometres, the elevation difference totals around 500 metres; the ride takes just under 55 minutes. Towards the end, the first houses herald the approach to the village. The sledging run ends in Kiental at just over 900 m, only a few steps from the Kiental SKRa stop.
