Tschentenalp-Schlittelpiste

High above Adelboden, there are downhill sledge runs for every level of expertise. The run from the Tschentenalp mountain station to Weng is quite easy. It starts out along the ridge leading to the Tschentenegg huts and then makes several hairpin bends across open terrain, heading towards Tschentenwald forest.

It is only a few steps from the Tschentenalp stop to the start of the sledging route. The descent begins at just under 1,940 m, virtually at the highest point of the route. Right at the start, it passes Alphüttli Adelboden, which stands directly beside the route. Schwandfeldspitze, by contrast, lies around 300 m away; the sledging route does not lead to the summit.

The route then descends across the open slopes of Tschentenalp. Over around three kilometres, it drops a good 320 metres in elevation, with meadows and pastures characterising the surroundings almost throughout. The elevation loss is spread over the entire short ride, down to around 1,630 m. After about 40 minutes, the sledging route ends in Adelboden, Weng (Tschenten). The stop of the same name is right by the finish, only a few steps from the end of the descent.
