Schneeschuhtrail Fiesch–Fiescheralp

You’re sure to feel in perfect harmony with nature during this snowshoe experience in the region of Aletsch Arena. Over the course of the hike you will climb up through forests with snow-covered trees and along the Heimatt trail until you reach Fiescheralp.

The snowshoe trail begins in the heart of the village at the Fiesch, Dorf bus stop. For the first few metres, the route follows the Bärfetbach before the long ascent begins. Climbing around 1,100 metres in total, the route leaves the houses behind and soon enters the forest. The steady ascent characterises most of the tour, which takes a good four and a half hours; dense sections of woodland alternate with the first clearings.

Higher up, the forest begins to thin, and open slopes increasingly dominate the landscape. After Fiescherstafel, the direction remains clear: uphill towards Fiescheralp, with the Fiescherhorli nearby. The final section crosses open terrain and gains considerable height once again.

After around five kilometres, the trail reaches its highest point at approximately 2,200 m, which is also Fiescheralp. The Fiescheralp (Talegga) station is just a few steps from the end point.
