01/ Overview
The route
This trail turns the mountains upside down: the Grauberg snowshoe trail clearly shows how older rock strata edged their way above younger rocks during the mountain formation.
The snowshoe tour begins at the Nagens Sura stop at just over 2'180 m. From the starting point in Flims, the circuit climbs through broad, open terrain. The ascent remains steady for long stretches, gaining around 320 metres in total; closer to Crap Ner, the surroundings become increasingly rocky.
The highest point, at around 2'440 m, is reached roughly halfway along the route. The summit of Crap Ner lies away from the trail. The circuit then descends again, initially through barren terrain and later across the open slopes above Flims. After five kilometres and just under three hours, it ends back at the Nagens Sura stop.
