01/ Overview
The route
A cozy round trip with a great viewpoint Crap la Tretscha awaits you. Enjoy peace, experience the features of the Lenzer nature and marvel at the wonderful mountain hut district Tschividains.
The circular hike of around seven kilometres begins in the village, directly at the Lantsch/Lenz, Vischnanca bus stop. The mountain path leaves the houses behind and soon enters the forest. After the first ascent, it reaches the Crap la Tretscha viewpoint, just a few steps off the route. Among the trees and across open ground, the surroundings alternate between shady woodland, meadows and pastures. The difference in elevation remains moderate, with around 200 metres of ascent in total.
Continuing in a broad arc, the route crosses open terrain in a steady, mostly gentle succession of ascents and descents. After just over five kilometres, the hike reaches its highest point at around 1'440 m. A little later, the path passes through the surroundings of St. Cassian; the small cluster of buildings, with a farmhouse and chapel, lies slightly off the route. Towards the end, the open terrain gives way to the first houses of Lantsch/Lenz. After just under two hours, the circuit ends back at the Vischnanca bus stop.
