01/ Overview
The route
This summit tour along the southern edge of the Silvretta Range and over Piz Clünas offers an impressive view of the mountain panorama of Lower Engadine. An enchanting rest stop awaits you during the descent at Alp Laret.
The circular hike begins at the Prui stop on a white-red-white waymarked mountain path. It climbs steadily across broad meadows and pastures towards Piz Clünas. Almost 900 metres of ascent must be tackled in total, most of it on this first section. In the rocky summit area, the route reaches its highest point at around 2'800 m.
Beyond Piz Clünas, the path descends to Fuorcla Clünas. A little later, the small Lai da Minschun lies just off the route. Open upland terrain continues to dominate the scenery as the mountain path winds steadily up and down towards Muot da l'Hom.
The return route gradually descends and reaches inhabited terrain again at Laret. From there, the circuit leads back to Prui, where the stop is close to the finishing point. Around four and a half hours should be allowed for the twelve-kilometre hike. The consistently mountainous trail and open slopes give it a distinctly alpine character.

There may be snow on this hiking trail. Bring appropriate gear and plan accordingly.
How we check: SLF only publishes its snow maps from November 1. Until then we roughly estimate the snow depth at the lowest and the highest point of the route every day from the nearest SLF measuring stations. Check the situation on site.
