01/ Overview
The route
A hike downstream in the heart of La Gruyère, which through openings in the undergrowth offers unrivalled views of the Alpine foothills and creeks filled with turquoise water! It's a real pleasure to discover the flora and fauna and heritage of La Gruyère.
The 43-kilometre loop begins at the Corbières, Pont de Corbières bus stop and follows yellow-waymarked hiking trails. It first crosses open meadows to Botterens before entering the Forêt de Bouleyres. Woodland, fields and small settlements alternate along a succession of ascents and descents until Vuippens is reached. Shortly afterwards, the route follows Le Gérigno.
The second half draws closer to the Lac de la Gruyère. The reservoir lies directly beside the route, forming an expansive focal point between the wooded shores. The trail then climbs once more. Near La Combert, the loop reaches its highest point at around 760 metres before descending to Pont-la-Ville and its church.
The route continues through woodland and open farmland, following the Ruisseau des Bélenets for a short stretch. After Hauteville, the final kilometres lead back to Corbières, where the loop ends near the bus stop after just over 13 hours.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: SLF only publishes its snow maps from November 1. Until then we roughly estimate the snow depth at the lowest and the highest point of the route every day from the nearest SLF measuring stations. Check the situation on site.
