01/ Overview
The route
The walk has some stunning viewpoints over the Fribourg mountains, such as the Moléson, the Dent de Broc and the Gibloux. There are also several places to stop for refreshments: Botterens with its delicious goat’s cheeses and the Maison Cailler in Broc, where you can explore the world of Cailler chocolate.
The 13-kilometre circular hike starts at the Corbières, Pont de Corbières bus stop. The yellow-waymarked trail leaves the village and alternates between woodland and open meadows. Although the differences in elevation seem slight, the constant ups and downs add up to around 480 metres of ascent.
After just over a third of the route, the trail reaches the shore of Lac de la Gruyère. The reservoir lies along the course of the Saane and accompanies this particularly scenic section. The path then climbs gently once more. Shortly before Botterens, the hike reaches its highest point at around 720 metres.
Beyond the village, the circular route returns to more extensive stretches of woodland. The Forêt de Bouleyres dominates the final longer section and provides shade on warm days. In between, meadows repeatedly open up, giving the route a varied rhythm. Towards the end, the trail leads back to Corbières; the bus stop of the same name is just a few steps from the finishing point.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: SLF only publishes its snow maps from November 1. Until then we roughly estimate the snow depth at the lowest and the highest point of the route every day from the nearest SLF measuring stations. Check the situation on site.
