01/ Overview
The route
A steep mountain trail leads from Gorezmettlen to the Sewenhütte SAC, passing blueberry bushes and with a detour to Seewensee. At the top, views open up across the Uri peaks.
The starting point is Gorezmettlen on the Susten Pass road; the nearest bus stop, Meien, Gorezmettlen, is around 500 m away. The route initially climbs via Rieter, including a short section outside the marked hiking trail network. It then follows a mountain trail through woodland and across open slopes. Dwarf-themed features accompany the approach to the hut, while blueberries grow beside the trail.
The highest point is reached at around 2,150 m near Sewenkegel. Seewensee, which lies slightly off the route, offers opportunities for swimming and boating. A little further on, the Sewenhütte SAC stands directly beside the trail. Built in 1970, the hut was rebuilt after being destroyed by an avalanche in 1974. Views extend to Fleckistock, Stucklistock, Fünffingerstöcke and Wendenhorn; near the hut there is also a zip line for children and several climbing areas.
The descent follows the mountain trail back into the valley, keeping away from the busy Susten Pass road. After just over two and a half hours, the circular route returns to Gorezmettlen on the Susten Pass road.

How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
