01/ Overview
The route
A steep mountain path leads from Sörenberg up to the raised bog on the cantonal ridge. It then continues over the Bleikenchopf, through rocky hollows and shady forest, down to Flühli.
From the Sörenberg, Schulhaus stop, the path initially climbs through the village and across open meadows. The mountain path soon becomes steeper and heads towards Hagleren. After just over four kilometres, the route reaches its highest point at around 1'800 m; the summit of Hagleren itself remains off the route.
A raised bog shapes the landscape on the ridge between Luzern and Obwalden. Open, wet terrain and a rugged mountain path accompany the route to Bleikenchopf. The long descent then begins. Gitziloch forms a rocky hollow, while farther down Chessiloch narrows into a small gorge. Moss-covered rocks and shady forest paths characterise this section.
At Bunihus, the slopes become gentler and the route returns to an easy hiking trail. Via Hüttlenen, the final kilometres lead to the first houses of Flühli and the nearby Flühli LU, Post stop.

Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
