01/ Overview
The route
Alpine pastures, mountain paths and sweeping views characterise this circular hike towards Glaubenbielen. Passing below Hagleren and Rotspitz, it leads to its highest point at Heidberihubel and returns via Schönenboden.
The almost 13-kilometre, roughly four-hour circular hike starts in the village near the Sörenberg (Talst. Rossweid) bus stop. Beyond the last houses, the path climbs through woodland and across alpine pastures. It soon becomes a mountain path and ascends below Hagleren and Rotspitz. Along the way, views repeatedly open up towards Schrattenfluh and the Brienzer Rothorn range.
At Heidberihubel, the route reaches its highest point at just over 1,600 metres. The summit itself lies slightly off the path. Near Glaubenbielenpass, the view extends towards Obwalden before the mountain path turns across open pastures into Schönenboden. The route now descends more gently, alternating between pastureland and woodland, and returns to Sörenberg. Towards the end, it passes Chalet Sörenberg; from there, it is only a few more steps to Sörenberg Dorf and the nearby PostBus stop.

How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
