01/ Overview
The route
From the meadows near Sörenberg, the route leads via Junkholz down to the Emme, with views of the Schrattenfluh, before continuing through the forest to Flühli.
From the Sörenberg, Schulhaus bus stop, it is only a few steps to the starting point in the village. Passing the houses, the path leads into open countryside. At Birkenhof, the farm shop sells cheese, meat products, jams and syrups from the region. The route then crosses meadows towards Junkholz; Sörenberg lies behind, while the Schrattenfluh and expansive Alpine pastures dominate the view ahead.
After the gentle ascent, the highest point is reached at just under 1,200 m. The route now follows a mountain path for some time, soon entering the forest. It descends across the Rotbachbrücke to the Emme, whose riverside path defines the final section of this good two-hour hike. Between forest edges and meadows, the route steadily loses altitude and reaches Bunihus and Hüttlenen.
Towards the end, the valley opens out again. The path leads past the first houses of Flühli and ends in the village after around nine kilometres; the Flühli LU, Post bus stop is just a few steps away.

How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
