01/ Overview
The route
Easy panoramic route over the hilly moorland landscape at Sparenmoos. This sun-drenched high plateau above Zweisimmen boasts magical vistas of the Bernese Alps, the Simmental and Saanenland.
The three-kilometre snowshoe loop begins directly at the Zweisimmen, Sparenmoos bus stop. The route initially descends gently through open terrain. Broad expanses characterise the trail, with no sections of woodland or settlements.
After the lowest point, the route climbs steadily again, gaining around 150 metres in elevation overall. Near the end, the highest point is reached close to Schiltenegg at just under 1,700 m. From there, the route returns to the starting point at Sparenmoos and the nearby bus stop. Around one and a half hours should be allowed for the entire loop.
