01/ Overview
The route
The mostly flat and sunny circuit in the "Ferien- und Sportregion Ybrig" is a pleasure for all cross-country skiers. It adapts to any training and fitness level because of its shortcut opportunities. But one thing remains the same: the natural experience including the Schwyz mountains and two lakes.
The trail starts just a few steps from the Studen SZ, Dörfli bus stop. It leaves the village and heads out across the open plain. Running between meadows and wetlands, the route initially descends gently, with the Sihlsee, Switzerland’s largest reservoir, lying to one side. The trail then continues through the broad high valley towards Unteriberg.
At Waag, the gentle climb to the highest point of the route begins. Near Bockeggen, the trail reaches its high point at around 940 m, without the terrain ever becoming steep. It then turns back towards Studen. The return route once again crosses open ground and wet meadows, with only a few short uphill sections. Towards the end, the houses of the village draw closer; just before the finish, the trail passes the parish church and ends back in Studen, not far from the Dörfli bus stop.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
Cross-country skiing is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
