01/ Overview
The route
This circular route starts at Isenfluh, goes through Mederalp, which is slightly higher up, and then back to the easily reachable cable car. An easy trail with impressive views of the world-famous mountain trio: Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.
The short snowshoe loop begins at the Sulwald stop, in the heart of the small village. The Sulwald-Stübli is right by the starting point, before the route leaves the houses behind and climbs across open slopes.
As the route gains height, the surroundings change from open terrain to forest. Just over halfway round, the highest point is reached at almost 1'700 m. Vreneli lies well away from the route; the loop remains in the vicinity of Sulwald.
The route then descends through wooded terrain. After a total of around two kilometres and just over an hour, the loop ends back at the Sulwald stop, a few steps from the Sulwald-Stübli.
