01/ Overview
The route
The winter hiking path to Seebenalp offers a fantastic view to Churfirsten and Walensee. At the destination three mountain lakes lined by fir trees form a mystical scenery.
The signposted winter hike begins almost immediately at the Flumserberg, Tannenboden bus stop. The circular route initially leads out of the village and climbs steadily between open terrain and sections of forest. With around 320 metres of ascent, the first section requires some stamina but remains straightforward.
After just over three kilometres, the route reaches its highest point at around 1,660 m near Narggenchopf, while the summit itself lies off the route. Shortly afterwards, the route descends to Grosssee and follows its shore. On the return leg, open terrain and forest alternate once again as the route gradually loses elevation. After just under three hours, the circuit closes among the houses of Tannenboden. The finish is once again directly beside the bus stop of the same name, just a few steps from Restaurant COLORS.
