01/ Overview
The route
A short woodland circuit from La Heutte follows the geology trail to dinosaur tracks, then returns to the village via the highest point at around 720 m.
From the La Heutte stop, the geology trail leads out of the village and soon enters the forest. Over the course of this short circuit, the yellow-waymarked hiking trail climbs a total of around 140 metres. Its theme is the Traces des dinosauresâthe dinosaur tracks from which the route takes its name.
Among the trees, the route remains shady and compact. After visiting the tracks that give the walk its name, the ascent continues until the trail reaches its highest point at around 720 m towards the end. Montoz lies in the surrounding area.
The trail then descends again to the houses of La Heutte. After just over three kilometres and around one hour, the circuit ends in the village; the La Heutte stop is only a few minutesâ walk from the finish.

Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
