01/ Overview
The route
On water or on land - this is an inspiring route thanks to stunning views of the Urnersee lake, the southern arm of the Vierwaldstättersee (Lake Lucerne), embedded in a magnificent mountain panorama and surrounded by an opulent, generously renatured plant world.
The approximately eight-kilometre hike begins directly at Flüelen railway station. The yellow-waymarked trail leaves the village and leads out into open meadows with only minor changes in elevation. Wetlands accompany this peaceful section, with settlements and farmland alternating along the way. After around three kilometres, the lakeside restaurant directly on the route offers an opportunity for a break.
The route continues almost level through the open countryside towards Bolzbach and Ängisort. There, the trail reaches the Vierwaldstättersee, whose broad expanse of water now defines the character of the hike. With no significant ascent, Isleten gradually draws closer. A short, barely noticeable climb leads to the highest point of the route at around 470 m.
The trail then descends gently again and reaches Isleten. The final few metres lead to Isleten-Isenthal, where the hike ends after just under two hours, directly beside the stop of the same name.

Reusssteg

Oberhalb der Reussmündung in den Urnersee verbindet der Reusssteg, eine Brücke von 38 Metern Länge auf dem Weg der Schweiz, die Gemeinden Flüelen und Seedorf. Zwei markante Bögen aus Brettschichtholz bilden das Tragwerk der Brücke. Sie sind den Witterungseinflüssen in besonderem Masse ausgesetzt und müssen nach einer Betriebsdauer von über 35 Jahren umfassend saniert werden. Während der Bauphase ist die Brücke für den Langsamverkehr gesperrt. Bitte benützen sie die Umleitung.
