01/ Overview
The route
A spectacularly scenic high-level trail through the Val Bregaglia. You follow old paths through light mixed forest, over solid granite slabs and always with views of mighty granite spikes touching the sky on the other side of the valley.
The roughly 14-kilometre hike begins at the Casaccia, Villaggio bus stop. The mountain trail leaves the village and, after the first section, reaches Löbbia. There, Lago di Löbbia lies almost directly beside the route. The trail then continues down the valley through woodland and across open meadows, passing the small settlements of Röivan and Roticcio.
Beyond Roticcio, a section of just over two kilometres runs outside the marked hiking trail network. The mountain trail then resumes. In a steady succession of ascents and descents, shady stretches of woodland alternate with open pastures. Towards the end of the middle section of the route, the highest point is reached at around 1,480 metres. From here, the trail loses considerable height in a long descent towards Soglio.
After just under four and a half hours, the tour ends in the village. In total, it involves around 560 metres of ascent and 900 metres of descent. The Soglio, Paese bus stop is only around 150 metres from the finish.

How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
