Peaceful paths run through typical Mittelland surroundings. A high point is the Santenberg with the Chätzigerhöchi, from which you have views over the Wauwilermoos plain and the entire northern foreland of the city of Luzern. The stage destination is Sursee on the Sempachersee lake.

From the station square in Zofingen, the yellow-waymarked hiking trail initially leads through the town, passing close to the town church. The houses are soon left behind, and the trail continues through extensive stretches of forest towards Wikon and Reiden. Open meadows break up the greenery, giving this long stage a varied rhythm.

After Dagmersellen, the most tranquil section of the route begins. Forest paths alternate with open uplands until the route reaches its highest point near Buechberg at around 700 metres. This completes the main ascent. In total, the 26-kilometre route involves around 600 metres of ascent and just under seven hours of walking.

The descent gradually leads back into a settled area. Near St. Erhard, the chapel stands close to the trail, and a little later the route passes through the surroundings of Mauensee. It then continues via Hitzligen to Sursee, where the hike ends directly at the railway station.
