Walserweg Safiental, Stage 2/3

Tenna offers wonderful views into the valley, which means that from the very outset of your day's hike you can see your destination at Safien Platz. Later on you will find yourself hiking along the valley floor, following the course of the Rabiusa river.

From the Tenna, Mitte bus stop, the mountain trail leads through the houses of Tenna. Shortly after the start, the route reaches its highest point at around 1,650 m. A long descent then begins via Innerberg, mostly through forest and in places alongside open meadows. The white-red-white waymarked trail requires care and descends a good 500 metres to the valley floor.

The water comes into view at the Egschi reservoir. The route then climbs again on the opposite side of the valley to reach Neukirch, passing close to the Reformed church. Standing at 1,250 m, the church is listed as a protected monument by the canton of Graubünden.

From Neukirch, stretches of forest alternate with open pastures. The mountain trail continues up the valley in a steady succession of ascents and descents until the houses of Safien Platz come into view. Towards the end, it passes z'Cafi before reaching the destination; the Safien Platz bus stop is just under 100 m away.
