01/ Overview
The route
Through cool rock galleries and over long wooden footbridges, you proceed along a steep forested hillside on the shore of Lake Uri. With the superb mountain panorama always in view, several river deltas tempt you in for a swim. In the Reuss Delta nature conservation area, fens, reed meadows and islands create valuable habitats.
From the Bauen (See) stop, the path leaves the village and initially climbs noticeably. Passing between woodland and open meadows, it soon reaches the highest point at around 620 m. Most of the ascent is already behind at this stage. The route then descends to Isleten, where it meets the Vierwaldstättersee once again.
Water now defines the hike. The path, marked in yellow throughout, runs gently up and down through stretches of woodland and along open sections of shoreline. Small settlements alternate with sections beside the lake, with frequent views across the lake basin surrounded by the Pre-Alps. Near the lakeside restaurant, the route runs close to the water.
The final section remains straightforward and leads via Wildried to Flüelen. After around ten kilometres and a little over two and a half hours, the hike ends at Flüelen railway station. With around 220 metres of ascent and descent, it is a pleasantly manageable tour between hillside, forest and lake.

Reusssteg
From 31 Aug 2026 – Until 30 Oct 2026
Oberhalb der Reussmündung in den Urnersee verbindet der Reusssteg, eine Brücke von 38 Metern Länge auf dem Weg der Schweiz, die Gemeinden Flüelen und Seedorf. Zwei markante Bögen aus Brettschichtholz bilden das Tragwerk der Brücke. Sie sind den Witterungseinflüssen in besonderem Masse ausgesetzt und müssen nach einer Betriebsdauer von über 35 Jahren umfassend saniert werden. Während der Bauphase ist die Brücke für den Langsamverkehr gesperrt. Bitte benützen sie die Umleitung.
