01/ Overview
The route
This short circular winter walk leads from Flühli to the Kneipp facility at Schwandalpweiher. The route alternates between open terrain and woodland, with views of the striking Schwändelifluh along the way.
From the Flühli LU, Post bus stop, it is only a few steps to the village square. The winter walk begins at the Church of St Josef and follows the blue Kneipp experience trail signs out of the village. The route climbs across open terrain towards Schlund, with stretches of woodland lining the path. Behind, views open up over Flühli, while ahead rises the striking Schwändelifluh, also known as the Entlebuch Dolomites.
After just under two kilometres, the route reaches its highest point at around 990 m by the Kneipp facility at Schwandalpweiher. Some of the facility's installations are partially out of service in winter. The circular route then descends towards Hüttlenen and follows the Waldemme downstream for its final third.
The route returns via Längbrügg to the first houses of Flühli. After around one and a half hours, the walk ends in the village centre, just a few steps from the PostBus stop.

How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
