01/ Overview
The route
From the lake to the River Sihl: the lakeside circuit starts on Bürkliplatz, the dock that affords majestic views over the water and onwards all the way to the Alps. You begin by walking along the shore past Mythenquai to the Landiwiese park. Not long after, you pass through Wollishofen and reach the Sihl by crossing over the Entlisberg hill. The path then follows the river as far as Adliswil.
From the Zürich Bürkliplatz stop, the hiking trail initially follows the shore of Zürichsee. Lakeside parks and open green spaces accompany the flat opening section, with the city ever present. At Wollishofen, the route turns away from the water and gradually climbs through the neighbourhoods.
Beyond the houses, the character of the route changes. Stretches of woodland and open meadows replace the lakeshore as the trail climbs to the wooded heights near Entlisberg. At around 480 m, this is the highest point of the hike. The moderate ascent is brief, with only around 130 metres of elevation gain to tackle in total.
The route then descends towards Leimbach and briefly follows the factory canal of the Spinnerei Manegg. It continues to Adliswil between the edge of the built-up area and green spaces. After nine kilometres and just over two hours, the hike ends directly by the Adliswil stop.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: SLF only publishes its snow maps from November 1. Until then we roughly estimate the snow depth at the lowest and the highest point of the route every day from the nearest SLF measuring stations. Check the situation on site.
